Travel policy

We believe it is very important for everyone, particularly environmentalists, to minimise their carbon footprint, so all our activities take place within rail/boat/minibus distance of the UK.

The travel time from the meeting place in the UK to the accommodation in our host country varies from 18hrs (La Brenne including the overnight ferry crossing) to about 24 hrs for Poland and the Czech Republic and just under 30 hrs for the visit to Aggtelek in Hungary.

Several of the outward journeys will be by minibus stopping at campsites on the way. The visit to Hungary in July will include nights in Kent, central Germany and Austria. The journeys themselves will be memorable!

Please do not apply for a placement if any of your journeys to the meeting place or the preparation weekends will involve flying!
