All accommodation (in shared rooms), meals and travel, health and personal insurance will be 100% funded by the grant.
Participants will be asked to pay a deposit of £100 on booking as an expression of commitment. In special circumstances we will accept a deposit of less than £100 – we do not want anyone to feel excluded on financial grounds. The deposit will be returnable on completion of the end-of-placement reports and evaluation questionnaires and of two conservation tasks or presentations.
We ask participants to take part in two conservation workdays as volunteers somewhere in their own locality, one of the days preferably before the placement. Participants who are already professionally involved in conservation management are asked to do presentations to their colleagues or others about their placement as an alternative to the volunteer days.
All participants will be expected to produce a report about their placement, preferably for publication on the internet or in the local or national media. You can read reports of previous visits in the visits section. There are also two questionnaires to be completed. The deposits will be returned as long as these requirements are fulfilled within the prescribed time (we usually allow about 6 months).
The group created a very good environment for learning.
